The idea of Achilles being plural is so interesting and also tracks :achilles-serious:
The pointier ears on ELVM makes me wonder if he’s sort of more like early Achilles, before his fixation on masochism? It could be a visual shorthand?
Pepper is probably tired already of having to think for that little brain empty man, and now he’s learning that he could think for himself all along and just chooses not to :pepper-shoot:

I wonder if it’s because only Achilles has the power to pull it off. ELVM only showed up when Achilles first began to ponder to himself, and surely the others (especially Pepper) have pondered to themselves since then.
Putting aside the leftfield curve of Achilles having Jiminy Cricket living in his head, Pepper being as caught off guard by Achilles having depths and complexities as Achilles was is cute.
pepper has made two sandwiches since we last saw the bread. or one sandwich and two toast..? like we saw him make a sandwich but theres 10 pieces instead of 12. also plus another sandwich from before we last saw the bread again.
i wasnt expecting him to bring up extremely literal visual metaphor.. hrm,. good luck pepper
We’ve only ever seen ELVM while Achilles is alone, right? I’m almost expecting it to be diagetic and this is how we’re going to find out, but I genuinely can’t tell if that would be too outlandish for the tone of the story. It IS extremely literal, though… here’s my half-committal prediction, haha.
The OBVIOUS explanation for ELVM is that Achilles is plural, of course… but I can’t help but wonder… This is ACHILLES we’re talking about. It would sort of break the fifth wall (fictional characters being self-aware), but I can absolutely see Achilles failing to understand the concept of a non-diagetic metaphor, even after ELVM explained it to him!
Okay as much as I want Achilles to start thinking and embrace that he’s plural and a bunch of other stuff moving the plot forward.
It might be better for everyone to wait until morning.
Lil man’s experiencing complex emotions and cannot understand them, even though he wants to. He’s very much of the ’tism. Feed him small bites of info for him to understand better.
Also, Pepper. For God’s sake, bro. Lil man’s in love with Mars, but doesn’t understand what that is. Help him out somehow. All Achilles has to say is that it hurt his heart to hear her say “it’s just for the money”, even though she didn’t mean that.
