I almost forgot that Pepper doesn’t know about the current friction between Chloe and Mars. I wonder if it’ll stick out to him that she reacted to Mars with almost the same level of disinterest as she did to Clair.
Also, given that Pepper is usually the type to take initiative and take care of problems on his own, the only reason I can see him asking Chloe to take care of the skylight for him is that he already has something planned for today. Something that would keep him occupied for most of the day, or even longer than that… a trip to the abyss stairs, perhaps?
Chloe never told Pepper about her issue with Mars, he was asking her cause they hang out a lot.
And the issues between Clair and Chloe have been a thing since Pepper came to the island, but it hasn’t stopped the two of them from talking.
I mean, just her personality… he’s not taking into account that she doesn’t seem to be one to take orders and dutifully carry them out. He’s really giving her a lot and not even facing her to see if she’s got it all
I think there’s a big difference between how Pepper is asking this and how Clair has been trying to get Chloe to be ‘productive and responsible’.
We found out last night that it bothers Chloe that Clair is evidently giving her work just to keep her busy, while this is something Pepper needs doing. It also shows that he trusts Chloe to be responsible and actually relay this information.
Plus, Chloe is a big girl, she can say no. When she does that with Clair, Clair makes it about her character (You’re irresponsible, lazy, ungrateful, etc.). Pepper isn’t going to do that, and from the sound of it it seems Chloe would be perfectly willing to relay a message if she wasn’t avoiding Clair and Mars right now. I don’t think asking Chloe to run an errant is actually a faux pas.
I forgot, why would it be a good idea to ask chloe to go to clair and order a replacement window? wouldnt that just make clair ask why she’s trying to use mars’ money? if its on behalf of pepper and coming out of pepper’s wallet, then shouldnt that make the mention of mars at all seem odd to chloe? i mean maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, i wouldn’t be shocked either way with chloe. but still from pepper’s perspective i wanna know what the intent is behind his word choice, and if theres any elements that ive forgotten about from prior episodes. i’m well aware that they got a conspiracy to hide regarding where mars gets her money from (and where achilles got HIS money from), but that doesnt clear up pepper’s choice of words for me
Clair doesn’t make people pay her to be rid of Peachy’s vandalism. She has been paying Mars to clear her trees and stuff. The pane of glass should be on the house.
Pepper wants the pane of glass ordered first because Mars can’t repair his window without it.
