similarly, chloe also can’t show weirdness, or she would have just taken mars along as well to get her plate. she would have told mars about the plate in the first place. instead, she’s keeping something as innocuous as that a secret, or else admit that she’s bothered by things like not having possessions or a place to stay, or that she relented once and got something from clair. she would rather sleep in the rain than admit she kind of wants a place to stay.
how tough do you look, scrambling around before it gets dark out so you can get a good spot in some dirt, standing around while your boyfriend gets dragged off like a sack of fish. as if chloe has anyplace to stash the plate from mars anyway. no place to even hide a secret
like I understand why chloe wouldn’t want those things from clair. I mean what would happen if she just played clair’s game her way? it would be kind of like giving up who she is. I don’t really feel like she should stop rebelling against the system around her. but as long as she is in halo head, there is always some relenting to clair’s game, just by being there. she’s in kind of an inbetween spot, bc she doesn’t want to play clair’s game, but doesn’t want to play no game at all.

also i completely forgot that Chloe was only trying to get close to Mars to get Achilles for Peachy… Chloe would most likely still be avoiding Mars entirely unless she had to fulfill this promise… and Chloe doesn’t want to look weird or weak in front of Mars, so she isn’t telling Mars about her plate… these girls are breaking my heart

i swore i commented my fears of what peachy is going to do to achilles, but it appears it did not actually send..? well anyways after going back through all of peachys appearances, im hoping she just wants to have a chat [yell at him] with him about The Other Layers. or harass him, which i.. dont want :peachy-menacing:

everyone in halo head (except peachy) needs to be more like achilles tbqh
mars is so concerned about chloe thinking she’s weird that she’ll bend over backwards to try to prevent it, even hurting herself and achilles in the process; she’s not taking his idea of being vocally weird even though it doesn’t really do all that much bad for him, i think because she and chloe were bonding over bullying achilles in the first place
i can’t tell chloe’s intentions here, but if she is taking the little black and blue man to peachy then her trying to hide it is weird- she’s so committed to being a contrarian that she’s afraid of mars thinking she’s doing something she agreed to or for caring about the thing she bought (which she probably didn’t tell mars about in the beginning because she didn’t want to seem vulnerable or silly)
achilles is just transparently and unapologetically himself. he doesn’t worry that other people will be mean to him or not accept him, and most of the people around here have accepted him as he is, even if they’re not comfortable with it. he’s great and they should all learn from him
