It’s definitely part of shading/highlighting, but personally think it *does* means something – these diamonds started showing up in shading after Achilles meets Mars, and associated with events that happened with things from that lower world. For example, Achilles’ black eye (bought with money from that other world) has consistently had the diamonds.
I feel like they might symbolize how Pepper is being affected by those events, and/or repeated patterns & dynamics happening from the other worlds! :pepper-surprise:
