“i of all people should be above [having a disagreement]”
man that’s a loaded sentence. clair is putting herself in the place of a forever reasonable, forever giving hypothetical perfect person that doesn’t and can’t exist, but at the same time she’s putting her own needs last. sometimes disagreement is inevitable because (for example) neonazis exist. there are genuinely bad actors who want to hurt people, not because they’re misled (though they often are) but because they find satisfaction in it, and disagreeing with that is a matter of self preservation
… ofc if she’s saying she should be above disagreeing with chloe in particular that’s more of her trying to mother chloe. also notice that the words ‘i’m sorry’ don’t actually leave clair’s mouth here, making this not a real apology. a real apology has three parts: a statement of what you think you did wrong, an expression of regret and care, and a promise to not do the thing again. while chloe reads it as an attempted apology, and she’s probably right, clair is too up her own ass in her perception as the only adult in the room to really take responsibility there
SHE’S DOING THE HOLY SYMBOL:achilles-happy:
these characters need to stop being so relatable… π
i forgot that mars was the one that taught chole how to do the funny s symbol!:hearts:
lemon branch clair is so cute :clair-cute:
