I think this is the first reference we get to the outside world, unless you count Mars’s book. It’s so funny how the animals know some things but not others. Like pepper knows what a lifesaver is but Achilles doesn’t know what a bear is.
I think Achilles was just confused by the phrase “bear with me”. (Like, what bear is with you? He can’t see any.) He could be unfamiliar with the abstract sense of having patience with someone.
“You okay dude? Your lifesaver’s sweating” might be the funniest line in the whole comic
