sleeping downstairs has numerous associations with positive things for him: chloe, achilles, plus now he’s used to seeking comfort there. being upstairs probably reminds him of his last convo with mars. although the sunshine through the window also reminds him of mars. so the best place he can find for comfort still reminds him of stress.

as always, the colors in this comic never fail to amaze me to no end. battys way of showing lighting is forever one of my favorites, and shes just SO good at it. pepper is drenched in the red of mars, from his shirt and the blanket, to even the shading in his hair.. dudes got that cat on his mind. nothing but defeat for dear puppy boy :pepper-scruffy:

But he has been able to go upstairs, he changed his shirt after Mars left.
