If you look closely at the pixels on it, it is LITERALLY the door from the second to last panel, just white instead of green, good eye!

Well fancy that. In a world of change and uncertainty, Chloe may find some stability in an unlikely place. I can see this being the end-mindset for Chloe—reaching peace of mind with Clair by understanding that no matter what happens, she at least will always be there for her.
And for Clair, I can see a day when she doesn’t flinch at the flick of her halo, and may even smirk or laugh instead. Seeing it as an endearment instead of a taunt. I’d like to think this time at least, it was a sort of endearment on Chloe’s end.

Wow Pepper talks a lot! Also pretty funny to see Ares having twice as much dialogue as Peachy even though Peachy is prone to long raving sermons and first appeared much earlier.

As someone who has spoken aloud and recorded recorded a majority of these words from Pepper, I can attest that yes, he does say like twice the amount of words as everyone else! Thank goodness I didn’t give him any particular kind of voice, other than a slightly pitched down version of my natural speaking voice

Has Chloe ever opened her other eye?
She opened it a crack, once, in her sleep. Tears poured out, which woke Clair up, causing her to recoil in fear, close the eye, and run away.
I’m pretty sure the closed eyes represent repressed memories. So considering that everything Clair does is to keep Chloe “safe” from those memories, I suspect her other eye opening will be a huge plot point when and if it happens.
She also nearly opened it, once, very early into the comic

Clair’s hesitant little “bye” speech bubble being centered directly on the door is deeply moving to me for reasons I can’t quite parse. Love that shit.

Ooh, now you’ve got me thinking! Second to last panel, Chloe’s speech bubble starts partially inside the “door” and extends outside of it, then her “bye” is fully outside of it. Then Clair’s “bye” in response is, as you said, directly in the center of the “door.” Does this mean that Chloe is going to move on from Halo Head and try to leave in the future, while Clair will remain stuck here? Chloe has also always been a bit willfully removed from the world of Halo Head. The place was created for her, yet she wants very little to do with it. She doesn’t have a home here, actively avoids doing almost anything in the world, and even the people who were created for being her companions she has relationships with that vary from “we vibe together well but we’re absolutely not going to talk about deep subjects at length” to “we were friends but now the relationship is strained” to “fucking weirdos that Chloe doesn’t really want anything to do with.” Meanwhile, Clair is HEAVILY integrated into the world, not only as its presumed creator but also as an active resident who tries to facilitate relationships between everyone and also handles all of the administrative duties of keeping the place running. Chloe never asked Clair to do all of this, and her ties to this world are tenuous at best. Clair is so enveloped in this world/project/trauma response that even if she were given a way out I don’t think she would take it.
