The literature references they do make sense because we’ve seen them all reading books, but Clair has mentioned watching TV shows on more than one occasion and nobody has questioned why there isn’t any forms of media in halo head other than literature.
Its like everyone in halo head has programmed limitors or something. Like little people in an enclosure who dont question whats outside or why they know about stuff from outside. its so interesting. I like that the characters have at least acknowledged the existence of non-anthropomorphic animals but its also weird how normal they talk about cat-and-dog things despite them being cats and dogs. Still debating to this day if the dog food comment from chloe several hundred chapters ago was was rude or not lol

One thing I’m noticing is that the stuff Clair watches is stuff that tends to be sensationalized. People with wildly unusual ‘proclivities’, medical documentaries about gruesome infections. It might be playing into judgementality and anxiety on her end.
