Peachy is right tho, something is certainly brewing on the horizon. We know that the trees haven’t always grown peaches, and according the Ares it’s been a recent phenomenon even in the lower levels. And the ofc there’s the classic “all paths lead to Peachykeen.” What this signifies of course has yet to be revealed, but as far as I’m concerned, this entire universe is will end in glorious neutral ass one way or another ππ
thereβs something there between the peaches and halo head itself that peachykeen is talking about. ripe peaches never go up on the branch, they only fall down. and with the different halo head layers thing, achilles said (and we saw) there was no going up on our layer, only down.
[THEORY SECTION, DISCLAIMER IβM NOT CAUGHT UP]
i feel that each βlayerβ of halo head was a different time clair pressed the reset button and tried again. chloe is notoriously difficult to appease, especially when itβs clair trying to do it. and clair obviously made halo head, so by nature she should have some way to (or knowledge of) destroying it, stopping it, or at least a little bit of how it works if itβs out of her control in some way. i feel like her comment to pepper also alludes to this, how overwork and exhaustion is better than seeing chloe at her βworstβ again.
with the way the relationships in halo head are as well, with all the tension and lying and shit happening without chloe (in the world MADE for chloe), this could be another bad ending with an unhappy chloe that constitutes a reset because with everyone squabbling with everyone else nobodyβs there to stop her from thinking about what made her eye close.
(writing this out, itβs started to make me think of clair as in some sort of time loop of trying to save chloe and losing each and every time, a sort of homura and madoka situation.)
itβs a very apt way of representing the cycle of trauma and trying to fix others without fixing yourself (or just being aware of your own neurosisβs and weak spots) first and the lasting consequences it leaves (ares). i like it a lot!
Peachykeen stole Chloe’s plate! D:
the way peachy is clinging to chloe’s head in the last panel is so good lmao
