This actually gave me an idea… I present to you, all the Halo Head residents ranked by how likely they are to willingly eat a bug:
1. :chloe-happy: Chloe is first, given that she’s already taken the initiative to eat a bug.
2. :peachy-aaa: Peachy would likely eat a bug for the sheer chaos factor of it all.
3. :achilles-wonder: Probably a surprise pick for some, but I’m putting Achilles up this high based on the fact that he would eat a bug instantaneously if Mars told him to do it.
4. :mars-what: There is that one art Batty drew of Mars eating pizza with “the shell” (a.k.a. the cardboard box), so eating a bug wouldn’t be TOO far out of the question for Mars, but I think the three residents above would be more likely to give it a try under the right circumstances.
5. :pepper-scruffy: Given Pepper’s love of – and experience with – cooking, I have a hard time seeing him eat a raw bug.
6. :clair-despair: Clair cares about those little creatures so much, I don’t think the thought of eating them would even cross her mind.
I am now realizing that this list is a bit symmetrical in the sense that, if you drew a horizontal line across the middle of the list, each character and their polar opposite are equidistant from that line. You have Mars and Achilles being right next to each other; Chloe and Clair being on the opposite ends of the list; even Peachy and Pepper, who could be considered opposites in the sense of chaos vs. reason, are also equidistant from that horizontal line of symmetry.
I was not at all thinking about that when I made this list, so this symmetry ending up being kind of a funny coincidence.
I would swap :chloe-happy: and :peachy-menacing:. Chloe might be *about* to eat a bug, and may have eaten them in the past, but there is no reality in which Peachy has not already eaten a hundred bugs, and is about to eat several hundred more.
I’d like to imagine the echo just carries throughout all of Halo Head and all the residents just randomly hear “EAT A BUG!!!” out of nowhere.
