The trees are drawn so beautifully! Tons have people have said this in the past already but I can’t stress enough how pleasant the backgrounds have always been.
This arc is heartbreaking.. Pepper is trying so hard to keep things under control and figure things out without getting caught that he’s unintentionally tainting his friendships with the others which is just kinda sad when he seems to usually want the best for them overall. It seems like everybody’s perceptions of him are gradually worsening (Clair when he hangs out with Chloe, Achilles when he is suspicious of Clair, Mars when Achilles acts odd, and Chloe when Pepper just ditches her all day..) It’s obvious Pepper isn’t intentionally doing things against anybody, but it’s his decisions nonetheless that are ruining his reputation/relationships, even if he has good intentions with them. However, it also feels that he could be trying to save himself with his actions as well (not wanting to get caught doing things Clair wouldn’t want him to.) It makes me wonder if his eyes being ”hidden” under his hair could be somewhat symbolic of the fact he is hiding things from everybody.. :pepper-scruffy:
