Absolutely fascinating way to go about Peppers development, and I mean this positively!
You turned his own strong suits against him; he always seems to jump to what he assumes is the correct interpretation of something and doubles down on it. It usually works out for him as far as his memory goes. He’s too in his head to think about any other way to interpret what he’s been told. Like, the audience can see he’s almost certainly either wrong or not getting the full picture here (not to say Clair isn’t a little sus, but I certainly don’t think she- or any character we know so far- is a villain)
It’s not a direction I normally see, so I love to see it play out!
