also hey this isn’t super relevant to the current page but i love that whenever a character leaves a mark somewhere, it sticks around for the rest of the comic. the unfinished, backwards playground S. the tear in the grass by the shore where chloe skidded down. and then the pawprints in the sand for clair to find later.
(especially the grass thing, actually. i don’t know if i even would’ve noticed if the grass had gone right back to normal in the next panel. cuz yknow, it’s grass and it’s in the background. it’s whatever. but then making the path *stick* is like, “oh, wow, the environment is actually affected by what the characters do”)
like, of course the story already feels like things that happened before have meaning, because characters still bring it up, but the little details sticking around make it feel even moreso.
(and then of course, the layers of previous iterations…… there’s really nothing in this story that DOESN’T leave a mark, huh!! i love it)
I ALSO LOVE That the playground S is eternally unfinished. because of course it is!! of course chloe wouldn’t finish it! why should she? it’s not fun anymore. the moment’s passed, and probably she thinks it’s funnier to leave it unfinished, and also wouldn’t it be weird if she just finished it now? it’s been too long. also, can you imagine how much it bothers clair to see something left unfinished for so long?
(and also………………………. the playground S is a mobius strip. going back to the many iterations of halo head, and how they’re all connected in a chain, but the first and newest aren’t *directly* connected… well! could be nothing! :peachy-1: )
(AND MARS IS THE ONE WHO TAUGHT CHLOE HOW TO MAKE IT…. AND ARES IS THE ONE ACHILLES MEETS IN THE EARLY ITERATION…. and the S is BACKWARDS… LIKE PERHAPS… A MIRROR IMAGE…)
(i’ve connected the two dots / you didn’t connect shit / i’ve connected them)
I have been loving reading your comic. I’m glad to see you’ve got a website for it now that twitter is rapidly declining.
Also a big fan of not having to create an account to comment! I forget how I found your comic in the first place, maybe on twitter, bookmarked the tapas page but also your Twitter page and have kept up on it every week since I started reading it maybe a year ago?
Your style and colouring are so charming, and the story is so good. I love that you are open about this project being so personal to you. I am very thankful that you share this wonderful story with all of us, thank you so much!
(Also loving reading comments like gazi’s, because some of those things are things I wouldn’t pick up on and it makes me admire this even more!)
I am absolutely in love with this comic. Found it a while back on Instagram and just found the link to this website from your story. This site is so well put together btw!! Amazing job. Very connected to your little guys, especially Achilles :achilles-happy:
I absolutely love this website. I love how unique and cool it looks. I especially love this web comic so much!! :achilles-licking:
The emojis are amazing as well. You deserve so much support btw! :hearts: :thesmoocher:
I love scruffy pepper so much!! looks like how I feel after one of those 15 minute heavy, earth shattering naps that you wake up from questioning what decade you’re in :pepper-scruffy:
You know how people get plushies of their favorite characters and record videos of things like… Throwing them down the stairs, and strangling them, and freezing them in ice blocks? I hope you know that those are ALL the videos you would get if you ever made an Achillies plushie.:achilles-plush:
WOAAAAHHHH THE WEBSITE IS AWESOME im so happy 2 be a aprt of this community like seriously!! your art is really amazing and i cant wait to see your future workz, projectz :hearts:!! CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!! happy to see marz again after so long :achilles-happy:

Mars works! she reduced an entire tree to kindling with her bare claws for $20! oh. well, i guess it was just a gig. not even part time employment
:thesmoocher: I am so emotionally attached to these characters and I don’t know if that’s a good thing. But I feel glad.
