I love seeing Achilles just snap. He’s so tired of trying to nod along and pretend he knows what they all mean. Clair is the only person who’s been nice to Achilles from the start, of course he believes she’s good. To him it probably feels like Pepper’s speaking in riddles and just throwing Clair being bad in the middle of it
Tbf though, Pepper DOES kinda seem to just be basing his assumptions on what he’s read in books, since real life doesn’t have “villains”. Though I think he is right that Clair is suspicious

This is where I start to get annoyed with Achilles. At some point, you have to start learning from context clues (yes, even in real life.)
