also, to be on pepper defense squad, and this isn’t to neg on anyone else’s ideas but to rather just express my own, like feel however you want about pepper it’s really ok: I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pepper bringing this stuff up with chloe. they’re friends. as a creation he may exist for her support but as a person they’re friends. being her therapist is what she didn’t want. your therapist shouldn’t hug you and let you cuddle platonically while you drift off to night-night land. your friends open up to you about bullshit even if it’s hard. that just means you’re close, that you can feel comfortable seeking help and sharing that shit. and sometimes working stuff out with people is messy and imperfect. it’s a sign of their close bond! :pepper-1::hearts::chloe-bored:
I agree on this. I think how other people see Pepper rn is also very valid, bc it can mean they align very closely to Chloe’s thinking and relate to her needs at the moment. But I too also think that he’s not wrong for wanting to help himself some way through her, and your words help me understand better; it’s because they are REAL friends at the core of it. A little bs-passing between friends can’t hurt all that much, and in this case even if it did, Chloe still came back to him. That oughtta count for something too, at least.
My one prayer throughout this entire arc ever since Achilles showed Pepper those stairs is that no matter what, he still BE THERE for Chloe instead of just leaving her/closing her off. So far he’s been doing great for that, but I get the strong feeling he may need to leave her for a bit if he wants the answers he’s needing…. Perhaps to a certain Ares who may finally shed that sort of light, if he actually manages to go and make the journey
yknow, whatever theming there is regarding the diamond iconography and some manner of clarity/knowledge/enlightenment/insight/whatever, i can’t help but notice something. if you think about it- and maybe this is a stretch- but if you think about it, the shines highlighting the, shape of chloe’s hair on the back of her head, kinda look like diamonds. total stretch because that just might be how the designing shook out, but also i find it interesting how it somewhat suggests this enlightenment is in the few spots you can’t really see without a mirror lol. like it’s constantly on her mind but always out of sight. affecting her beyond periphery awareness.
funny then that chloe and claire seem like reflections of eachother, paralleling eachother in design despite all the ways they’re opposite. makes me think about how all this diamond symbolism started with achilles taking a visit to one claire’s deepest secrets, and to me then suggests that she stands opposed to the diamond symbolism, like how she’s opposed to chloe looking at the moon. i’m probably absolutely overthinking it, but that makes me think about how claire made this imaginary world for chloe, and wants her to live in it. claire’s hair has very rounded ends, like clouds or bubbles, and to me, that visually feels most distinct from not only chloe’s hair, but the shape of a diamond in general. no sharp edges, no strong lines. just soft, gentle comfort. like, well, a dream. a fantasy, a distraction, an illusion, a comfy lie. such things that are opposed to the pain and fear to be found not just in reality, but the reality that chloe and claire experienced “outside” of halo head.
i wonder if there’s any intention for “circle symbolism” in the future. assuming i havent missed any already, or that it doesnt muddy the existing moon symbolism. idk, i guess i’m just riding this train of thought in random directions lol, that’s all i got
