SUPER late but i think it’s an early hint that halo head isn’t the “original” incarnation of the island, with the implication being that claire kept/brought it up from one of the lower levels.
we can see in the page where achilles first looks into the split in the ocean that there are different fruits growing on the trees on the next-lowest island.
