I kinda see things heading in the direction of Pepper snapping in some way because of how he’s kinda been thrust into the middle of everything and hasn’t really had a spare minute to breathe, I just hope that if that does happen it’s not some big catastrophic thing that messes up any of his relationships with other characters.
It’s hard to keep things when you don’t have a place to store them safely. My bet is that Peachykeen probably took it… Unless I’m misremembering and Clair has it.
Once Chloe learns that Peachy has her plate, she will for the first time in the comic find herself in a conflict that she cannot resolve by refusing to play ball and leaving. How will she handle it?

this is a great portrayal of both someone being upset and talking while they’re crying, and someone really trying to comfort them. like pepper’s body language where he makes himself small next to her. poor chloe. babies both of them. and I still think you can really see pepper’s expression even though he has no eyes
I mean to be fair- tears are indeed salty given the process of making them! I wonder if Chloe and Claire’s would be even saltier due to their state of being?

Every bit of comfort Clair offered came with a strings attached even if it was as simple as having a save place to sleep for the night. The plate was the first thing that was really, truly hers, and now she doesn’t know where it went.
Clair might have been trying to push Chloe to do things in order to help her heal, but all that really happened was that she deprived Chloe of any real sense of control over her own situation, even down to something as simple as the things she carried with her.
It’s no wonder Chloe reacted the way she did when she saw Clair taking the book, something that wasn’t even Chloe’s in the first place. Whatever Clair’s own reasons for doing so, all Chloe could see is that the instant she showed interest in something, Clair tried to take it away from her.
