It’s a real shame how, after making progress mending her relationship with Chloe in the last few hours, Clair managed to undo it all through this small act of betrayal.
Could we ever get perhaps… some halo head wallpapers? Like, the detailed background shots as their own hi res images, I’d die a thousand times over. Forever returning to the sunset, night, & lighthouse scenes.
I wonder how much Clair is fooling herself here. She obviously knows what the book is about and feels threatened by the idea of Chloe drawing parallels to the book and her own situation. So is Clair thinking:
1.) “What I’m doing is nothing at all like this book, but there are surface similarities and I don’t want Chloe to get the wrong idea.”
2.) “What I’m doing is exactly like this book, except I’m doing it better and it’ll work, but Chloe won’t understand that.”
3.) “What I’m doing is exactly like this book and I know it’s wrong, but it’ll be worth it in the end because Chloe will be in a situation that I’m comfortable with.”
I imagine there’s a difference between which one of these Clair is thinking and which one she’s feeling.
honestly get her ass, Chloe. it’s nice to see her stand up for herself instead of wandering off
Clair feigning ignorance like she hasn’t been trying to get rid of this book since she laid eyes on it
Chloes gonna read it out of spite because of her at this rate

Mom I want to go home I’m scared
I really hope she does read it out of spite because Halo Head is being a real bitch about it :chloe-bored:
You’d think Clair would know by now that trying to tell Chloe no or denying her things will only encourage her to do it further. :chloe-bored:
She’s gonna read that book the second she leaves, maybe with Clair getting those blankets as fast as possible to distract her again. :clair-what2:

Damn.
It’s sad how the people that want to get close to her end up breaching her boundaries. And worst of all, she ends up feeling it’s her fault.
At least she take the right choices at leaving Peeper’s and when standing her ground right now. I’m very proud of her. :chloe-say:
YES I’m glad Chloe stood up for herself and didn’t just let it fester. I don’t think we’ve ever seen her this mad before.
Love the shading on Clair’s face in panel 1.

“This story is a caricature of controlling and manipulative people :clair-hey: males it seem like it’s a BAD thing!”
